WHY UNDERDOG

"Too often in our society the values of consistency, authenticity, and integrity get lost in the noise of our fast-moving, image-driven world"

Many of us find a connection and a sense of joy in the great underdog stories of our time...

In sport, the world was captivated by the Jamaican Bobsleigh team overcoming adversity and prejudice against all the odds to reach the 1988 Winter Olympics in Alberta, Canada.

In film, we root for Rocky to pull himself off the canvas for one more round or for Forrest Gump to make it out of the jungles of Vietnam carrying the wounded Lieutenant Dan.

Closer to home, there are individuals in all our lives who, sometimes without knowing it, provide huge inspiration with the understated and consistent way that they lead their lives and care for others...

Whether it be the primary school teacher working on a way to engage with an isolated pupil; a coach who goes out of her way to encourage the newcomer who is finding things tough or a colleague who you know will always speak well of you even when you're not in the room...there is something so authentically impactful about these, and stories like them, that it compels us to want to be just a little bit better ourselves in what we do and how we treat people.

Too often in our society the values of consistency, authenticity, and integrity get lost in the noise of our fast-moving, image-driven world. The loudest person in the room can dominate decision making and we over-value the wrong characteristics that can lead us to make short-sighted choices for our business, our team or our family.

At Underdog Leadership we exist to train, mentor and develop  a generation of values-based leaders  who are committed to excellence and who understand the importance of caring for those they lead.

Become the leader you wish you'd had
